As for the lack of organs available, this is the single biggest problem in organ transplantation and possibly in all of modern medicine, and I've definitely taken it to heart and done as much as I can to promote organ donation awareness. However, I'm curious about which aspects of these issues speak to you with regards to transplant candidacy for Amelia Rivera? In any case, all real concerns and I'm glad to write or talk or work on any of them.Manu Varmahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05200309838587779244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4709130394090503116.post-62583045655779300292012-11-03T14:19:38.746-05:002012-11-03T14:19:38.746-05:00Manu,

All these folks merely looking at the emotional aspect of "oh, poor little MR girl getting denied" need to look beyond that.

There are other aspects than emotional that must be considered in any transplant situation.

I wonder how many of those who are "so upset" have actually signed their donor cards and discussed their wishes for donation after death. I wonder how many are on the registry for bone marrow, kidney, or liver transplants.Janiehttp://wp.me/p2L0jb-Tnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4709130394090503116.post-56650912394222919182012-10-28T08:01:18.202-05:002012-10-28T08:01:18.202-05:00Thank youThank youyükselhttp://www.sikayetvar.com/sikayet/detay/1418092/yuksel-onder-emlak-magdur-olduknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4709130394090503116.post-23345400299119403332012-10-22T03:20:14.523-05:002012-10-22T03:20:14.523-05:00I've found your article accidentaly... I watched my healthy, middle aged husband quickly become frail and desperate as he suffered from unexplained cardiomyopathy and life threatening ventricular tachycardia. With very little hope left, he received a heart transplant. Twenty days later, he left the hospital with renewed health and a realistic hope to live long enough to see our childrrn grow into adulthood. The first anniversary of his transplant will be tomorrow. While we appreciate each and every day we have been given, I am overwhelmed at the occasion. I look back at what we went through, how close he was to death, and the medical miracle that saved him. Not for a single moment have we thought about "graft success rate" or "survival rate" statistics. Even if he were to die tomorrow, it will be 365 days later than it could have been. What a blessing were hose 365 days! What a blessing is today. What a blessing will be tomorrow! To the author of this post, stop worrying about the possibility of gloom and be thankful for the day. With PBC, she may need more tissue than usual to reconstruct the bile duct, and they may feel that this can't be done safely with a living donor liver. Of course, this is all my general guess and you should ask her transplant doctors exactly why...they should definitely have a reason and be able to share it with you.Manu Varmahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05200309838587779244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4709130394090503116.post-21336412324028956162012-09-03T10:27:59.739-05:002012-09-03T10:27:59.739-05:00Thank you for the update and good luck moving forw...Thank you for the update and good luck moving forward with the transplant operation!Manu Varmahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05200309838587779244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4709130394090503116.post-1435091185785396302012-08-07T05:28:14.387-05:002012-08-07T05:28:14.387-05:00Here is an update from www.wolfhirschhorn.og about...Here is an update from www.wolfhirschhorn.og about Amelia. The transplant center where i received the kidney got all the stats right...yet patient care and post help; staff unavailability and very poor care or concern followed. I am taking the time to look into the CORE of transplant centers as the quality of care and kindness is ESSENTIAL to healing. I have hope that my research will pay off. I know may people who would welcome and REVEL in the idea of having "profiles" of transplant centers....and to know they HAVE A CHOICE!
